Art Opening: “Aether”, recent photographs by Alex Marks opens in the gallery.
You don't want to miss Homosexual Atheist Drug Party, an exhibition of photographs by Marfa resident John Daniel (probably better known as J.D.) Garcia, which opens in the gallery tonight at 6 pm.
Signing: Zoe Leonard will be here, signing copies of her recently released book, Available Light, which documents, among other things, her series of camera obscura works, including the piece that she made for the Chinati Foundation.
Louise O'Connor, co-author of Images of America: Marfa will be signing copies of her new book, Marfa and Presidio County, Texas: A Social, Economic and Cultural Study, Volume One, 1937 - 1989, which she co-authored with the late, Dr. Cecilia Thompson.
Lannan Reading: Richard Siken, author of the book, Crush, will be reading from his work.
Art Opening: Ross Cashiola presents a new group of drawings and prints.
Derek Sayer, author of Prague, Capital of the Twentieth Century: A Surrealist History (Princeton, 2013) will be speaking about the interwar connections between Paris and Prague, permeability in European Modernism and about Czech Modernism in particular.
Rackstraw Downes will read from Nature and Art are Physical: Art Writing 1967-2008 on March 28th at 6 pm.
Lonn Taylor will be with us to celebrate the release of his latest book, "Texas People, Texas Places", the follow-up volume to his "Texas, My Texas", which has been one of TCU Press's best sellers since its release.
We're excited to host our second exhibition of new works by Marfa-based artist Martha Hughes. The exhibition features Martha's paintings of interiors at two scales: one foot and six foot squares.
