Very excited to present “Girl on a Wire Redux”, a work by our dear friend @ryannbosetti this Saturday at 4:30 pm @theicala / Here’s the press release with insight from Ryann: “Girl on Wire Redux is a performance project by Marfa-based artist and hairdresser Ryann Bosetti in collaboration with artist Hayden Dunham and designer @simonerocha_ . The performance brings together movement and narrative for what Bosetti describes as a “technical demonstration of femaleness.” Girl on Wire Redux addresses the subjugation and objectification of women by reclaiming the visual and formal qualities of hair. “I want to field the violence, to intervene, to rectify, to cauterize, via my reverence for my material,” writes Bosetti, “and I want my audience to perceive my longing and my rage.”
