We’re proud to announce the publication of Birds: A Suite of Three,  a folio of broadside poem-prints by poet and novelist William Benton. The poems were selected from Benton’s celebrated book of visual poems, Birds, and their publication coincides with the book’s 50th Anniversary.

Fifty individual sets, each signed and numbered by Benton, are now available online and at our shop in Marfa. Letterpress printed by Kyle Schlesinger of Cuneiform Press on 20” x 26” 300 gsm sheets of Crane Lettra paper, Birds: A Suite of Three comes in a clear, archival sleeve inside a stay-flat envelope. Each set is $275, plus $40 domestic shipping.*

William Benton is the author of several books of poems, including Backlit and Marmalade; a novel, Madly; a collection of essays on art and artists Eye Contact; and, Exchanging Hats, a monograph on the paintings of Elizabeth Bishop. Birds, from which these poems were selected, is available in a third edition from Nightboat Books. Praised by Robert Creeley, Ronald Johnson, Joanne Kyger, and others, William Benton’s poems have appeared in The New Yorker and The Paris Review, and a survey of his work, Light On Water: New and Selected Poems, was recently published by Marsh Hawk Press.
