Virginia Leberman and Rocky Barnette, Proprietor and Chef of The Capri in Marfa, have produced a beautiful cookbook. The book, which features extensive photography by Douglas Friedman, includes 80 recipes from Barnette, whose menu at The Capri is unlike any other. A devoted student of the culinary traditions of ancient Mesoamerica, dinner at the Capri often features traditional and regional ingredients, many of which are sourced from the extensive native garden that surrounds the restaurant. Friedman, who is a celebrated photographer, has contributed many images that introduce the reader to the culture and geography of Marfa and the surrounding area, from which Leberman and Barnette draw their inspiration.
